The cured meats selected for this pasta-themed hamper are the best flavourings to prepare many tasty recipes for this Italian typical product. Seasoned Guanciale is the protagonist of the most famous Italian dishes such as Pasta all’Amatriciana, Pasta alla Gricia, Pasta with cherry tomatoes and Guanciale, Pasta “Alla Zozzona” and Pasta with courgettes and Guanciale. Another cured meat that we have selected because of its perfect flavour in combination with so many other ingredients is Smoked Bacon, ideal to experiment in the kitchen and feel like a real chef. You can prepare a simple dish with tomato sauce and Smoked Bacon, or a variant of Carbonara, if you prefer Smoked Bacon instead of Guanciale in it (but just know that the lovers of the original Roman recipe consider this a sacrilege!), and Pasta with smoked bacon and courgettes. Finally, we have selected a creamy sausage that goes perfectly with many dishes, especially if you want to give them a strong and spicy flavour: the ‘Nduja. EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL FRUTTATO MEDIO
A unique extra virgin olive oil, produced in the warm land of Apulia by Frantoio Muraglia, a company from Andria that has been producing oil for over 5 generations. This oil is made only from Apulian Peranzana olives, which result in an elegantly flavoured oil, perfect to season delicate dishes given its low acidity. This fragrant aromatic oil is packaged in a 250ml glass bottle and has a golden yellow colour with green highlights.
CHERRY TOMATO SAUCE LA DOLCE
La Dolce tomato sauce is produced by the company I Contadini and takes its name from the variety of tomatoes chosen, the deep-red cherry tomatoes. This sauce is made with 2 ingredients only: tomato and basil. The result is a sweet and delicate sauce that goes well with any type of condiment.
PASTA
Pasta is one of the most famous products of the Italian culinary tradition and also a real symbol of Italy all over the world. For this package, we have chosen two iconic types of pasta that best represent this dish: spaghetti and rigatoni. Benedetto Cavalieri's Spaghettoni have a larger diameter than regular spaghetti (about 2.8mm) and are made using a bronze alloy die with funnel-shaped holes so that the pressure is not too strong and gently shapes the dough. It is produced with durum wheat semolina cultivated in the areas of origin of this wonderful product: the windy hills of Southern Italy. Spaghettoni are then dried at a low temperature for around 40 hours so that the whole surface will cook evenly. Cooking takes about 16/18 minutes: a longer time than average pasta that will allow them to fully express their quality. In addition to the Spaghettoni, we have selected Rigatoni Pasta di Gragnano PGI, a type of pasta known all over the world thanks to the Protected Geographical Indication mark and for being a culinary delight of Campania. These Rigatoni are made from the highest quality durum wheat semolina and are still bronze drawn. Their texture makes them perfect for tasty sauces, as their surface holds perfectly every kind of seasoning.
CHEESE
The types of cheese we have selected for this pack can be used to prepare many dishes and are perfect to grate on top of a plate of tasty pasta. Pecorino Romano PDO is the perfect ally for many recipes such as the world-famous Cacio e Pepe or Pasta with Pecorino Romano PDO and Guanciale.
