HOW TO TASTE IT
Battuto alla Contadina is a very versatile product: a spreadable vegetable dressing, rich in the scents and flavours of the Salento area that will become the ace up your sleeve while cooking, perfect for many different uses!
Just spread it on a toast - perhaps adding a leaf of fresh basil - for a snack or appetizer. Or, if you want to add a touch of Italian tradition to a charcuterie board, we recommend serving it on some toasted bread alongside some mixed cheese and pumpkin chips.
It is also great to enrich your courses, for example as a seasoning for roasted or boiled meats or to flavour a plate of pasta or rice and stir-fry recipes. Made from fresh vegetables, this spreadable cream is suitable for many occasions: its flavour is intense but not too strong and its perfumes is very pleasant and the aromas of both the vegetables and the extra-virgin olive oil can be perceived. The handmade processing of the vegetables is recognisable even visually; in fact, the size of the pieces is never perfectly equal. The dressing has a rustic look, just as if it had been prepared at home!

THE PROCESSING
The company I Contadini produces and processes the products of its own territory, the Salento area, starting with the hand-picking of the fresh vegetables directly from the soil, located a few steps from the sea. This proximity gives their products a very special scent making them truly unique, as you can notice from the first bite. These products are made by a company with a long history behind it, managed by farmers moved by tenacity and the love for their land. The company really cares about respecting the environment and its seasonality and this can be seen in each of its products. From harvesting to processing to storage in jars, all stages of production are carried out according to tradition: by hand and without the use of chemical preservatives for a truly authentic taste. Vegetables are grown using the integrated production technique.
The vegetables contained in the Battuto alla Contadina spreadable dressing, are harvested by hand and dried naturally in the sun on the farm's plateau, enriching them with the flavours of Salento. Subsequently, all processing steps are carried out calmly and carefully as required by tradition: from chopping and grooming to processing and packaging. The eggplants, zucchini and onions are, once ready, jarred and seasoned with flavourings and extra virgin olive oil.
